May 18, 2026 | Prepared by MT

Less than 15 months after the start of the modernization of the Andreas Terminal at the Port of Szczecin, Silekol Terminal NORD (STN) belonging to the Silekol Group, announces the commencement of operational activities.

The terminal opening ceremony on May 18, 2026 was attended by, among others: representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure, including Secretary of State Arkadiusz Marchewka, as well as representatives of local authorities, the Port Authority, the Maritime Office and key clients and business partners.

In June 2024, the Silekol Group announced plans for significant investments in the development and modernization of the terminal at the Port of Szczecin. As a result of the work, a modern marine terminal was created, specializing in the transshipment of bulk and general cargo (including grain, feed, fertilizers, minerals and pellets) and liquid goods such as methanol and other products.

We are pleased that as a country we are becoming an increasingly attractive partner in maritime logistics. The modernization of the terminal at the Port of Szczecin shows that there is potential and business justification for the expansion of maritime infrastructure, especially in such a dynamic geopolitical reality. Each new investment in maritime logistics is a spark for the development of many other branches of the economy, in this case both industry and agriculture.

– said Arkadiusz Marchewka, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The terminal has been equipped with modern port infrastructure enabling efficient service of marine vessels, and the newly modernized quay ensures safe and effective transhipment operations. STN has two quays: 205 m and 130 m intended for units with a draft of 7.3 m or 6.9 m and a load capacity of 8,000 DWT. The total capacity of the complex is 37,000 tons, including a new warehouse of 25,000 tons, storage boxes of 8,000 tons, grain silos with a capacity of 4,000 tons and three tanks for liquid goods of 4,000 tons each, giving a total storage capacity of 12,000 tons.

An important advantage of the facility are two railway sidings enabling the simultaneous operation of two trains, which increases capacity and streamlines logistics processes, and the modernized railway infrastructure allows for safe loading and unloading. Road infrastructure and storage yards enable efficient handling of road transport, ensuring smooth operations. The terminal offers comprehensive organization of sea, rail and road transport – enumerates Tomasz Zowade, President of the Management Board of ST NORD.

The terminal also has a spacious new warehouse and operations hall, separate storage boxes and specialized tanks that meet applicable technical and environmental standards, which allows for the safe storage of various goods and flexible space management. In accordance with the initial assumptions, the terminal has tripled the reloading capacity of bulk materials such as feed, cereals and grains, which is
certainly good news for local farmers.

Modernization of the terminal is a benefit not only for the port, but also for local communities, including farmers from the entire region. The investment not only led to the expansion and modernization of the Andreas Terminal area, but also will bring tangible benefits to the Port of Szczecin-Świnoujście, enabling the handling of a larger number of ships, which will translate into higher revenues. It is one of the most modern and best-equipped terminals of this type in Europe. We count on fruitful cooperation with Silekol Terminal NORD and further development of our region.

– said Rafał Zahorski, plenipotentiary of the Management Board for port development at the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority.
