– The past week on the fuel market was marked by a gradual calming down of moods after earlier, more violent fluctuations caused by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz area. After a period of strong reaction to changes in crude oil and finished fuel prices, the domestic market has calmed down, and drivers have been able to enjoy significant reductions in fuel prices at gas stations in recent days. – emphasize e-petrol.pl analysts.
Analyzing wholesale fuel prices, experts indicate that gasoline prices have increased slightly in recent days, making up for some of the previous declines, while in the case of diesel and heating oils, a clear downward pressure remains.
– Currently, a cubic meter of unleaded 98 gasoline costs PLN 6,114.80, and the popular “95” – PLN 5,598.60, which means a weekly increase of PLN 67.40 and PLN 15.40, respectively. At the same time, the price of diesel oil dropped to PLN 6,013/m3, i.e. by PLN 199.40, and light fuel oil decreased by PLN 138.40, to PLN 5,104.8/m3. In percentage terms, this means an increase of 1.11%. for Pb98 and by 0.28 percent for Pb95, with a simultaneous decrease by 3.21%. for diesel – experts calculate.
In turn, at gas stations we can still see the effects of previous wholesale discounts. Wednesday’s e-petrol.pl quotations show that the average price of 95 gasoline dropped by 19 gr/l during the week and is currently PLN 6.28/l, and diesel oil has become cheaper by as much as 46 gr/l, to PLN 6.81/l. Autogas is also cheaper due to reductions in the prices of its deliveries to stations, which cost an average of PLN 3.72/l in mid-week.
Fuel prices next week
Analysts point out that the decision to extend the deadline remains a factor stabilizing the market “Fuel Prices Lower” package until the end of May. This means that the maximum price mechanism will continue to apply, which limits the scale of fluctuations at stations and influences the pace at which wholesale changes are transferred to retail.
– However, the forecast for the wholesale market, assuming no escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, indicates that from next Saturday and Tuesday the direction of changes may slightly reverse. Prices in refineries may increase, but the scale of changes should not exceed several zlotys – experts write.
For the retail market, this means that the space for further price reductions at gas stations will begin to shrink. The most likely scenario for next week is stabilization of gasoline prices with the possibility of minor changes and further, but smaller, reductions in diesel and autogas.
How much can refuelers pay at gas stations between May 18-24? Analysts forecast that the average price of EU98 petrol may range from PLN 6.73 to PLN 6.84/l, while for EU95 petrol prices should range from PLN 6.24 to PLN 6.35/l. In turn, drivers will pay from PLN 6.74 to PLN 6.85/l for diesel oil, and PLN 3.63–3.72/l for autogas.
