The winner of the On Air Main Competition was “A Light That Never Goes Out” directed by Lauri-Matti Parppei, the Polish From Poland Competition was won by “Dom Dobry” directed by Wojciech Smarzowski, and the Golden Angel for Creative Resilience was awarded to actress Nastassja Kinski. These are just some of the awards of the 24th BellaTOFIFEST International Film Festival in Toruń.

“It is a rebellious film festival, different from those to which we are accustomed. 130 screenings of fantastic films, seven of them co-financed from the budget of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. This is a unique event that fits into the scenario of our voivodeship’s approach to film art. We adhere to one principle: freedom in art and culture – it is the basis of creativity,” says Piotr Całbecki, Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The BellaTOFIFEST International Film Festival is a cyclical event that has been taking place in Toruń since 2003. It is organized by the Cultural Office Foundation. It presents original, socially engaged and brave cinema, largely promoting debuting filmmakers. This is cinema centered around the story of a human being. The main theme of the festival is creative, artistic defiance, which is reflected both in the selection of films and topics discussed, as well as in the achievements of the artists participating in the event.
