A weekend away from home gives you a chance to fulfill your dreams of a walk along romantic streets, coffee in a small cafe or a few hours of lazy rest by the sea. For many mothers, such a trip becomes a personal gift on the occasion of their mother’s holiday, which falls on May 26.

As our interlocutor emphasizes, recently there has been a clear increase in interest in traveling around the May holiday. – The number of reservations during this period increased by as much as 135%. year to year – said Katarzyna Hauton.

According to experts from eSky.pl, one of the most frequently chosen destinations for a trip with mom is Milan. This is a proposition for women who not only like fashion, but also Italian cuisine and walking.

Milan is a city where you can’t get bored. Among the places you must visit is, of course, the Cathedral of the Birth of St. Mary and the Victor Emmanuel II Gallery. Departure before the peak holiday season is also a good idea due to the smaller number of guests. In the summer, crowds from all over the world gather in front of the cathedral.

Additionally, it is worth combining your stay in Milan with visiting Bergamo. We can get there by train in just an hour. A small town in the shadow of a popular metropolis has a unique atmosphere. It is divided into two parts – Citta Alta, or the Upper Town, and Citta Bassa, or the Lower Town. The first one is the historic, older part separated by walls from Venetian times. Citta Bassa, on the other hand, has a more modern atmosphere, although you can also find historic gems there.

Flight tickets from Polish cities to Milan can be found at attractive prices. For example, tickets from Łódź with a departure on May 25 and a return on May 27, perfect for spending Mother’s Day there, can be found from PLN 150 round-trip.

The second popular city for May is Barcelona. This direction attracts people who value diversity: from walks among Gaudi’s characteristic architecture, through visits to local markets, to moments of relaxation on the beach. Barcelona allows you to combine active sightseeing with the atmosphere of slow travel and gives you space to enjoy time together without a rigid plan.

In the case of the Spanish city, ticket prices are slightly higher, but they will not break your budget. On Mother’s Day, tickets start from PLN 240 round-trip.

The interest in Paris, which is associated with a romantic atmosphere, does not wane. You can spend the whole day visiting galleries and museums or take an evening stroll along the Seine. For years, the capital of France has been considered a place where it is easier to slow down and focus on small pleasures for which there is usually no time.

However, this direction will be the most expensive. Flight tickets from Poland on the selected date start from approximately PLN 700 per person, return. However, if we have the opportunity to change the airport on our own (e.g. departure from one airport, return to another), then we can pay up to half as much.

The last, but equally interesting proposition is Malta. – The island meets the needs of people looking for a combination of urban climate, Mediterranean relaxation and active recreation. On this island you can feel a real reset even during a short trip – says Katarzyna Hauton from eSky.pl.
