Attractions for a trip in Tomaszów Mazowiecki

The complex of attractions located in the mentioned city is called Tomaszowska Okrąglica. The place combines the reserve, but also the Nagórzyckie Grottos and the Pilica River Open-Air Museum. Each of them is open to visitors, and people who like hiking will get the most pleasure from it.

The caves are actually the undergrounds of a former quartz sand mine. Inside, you follow a 160-meter-long route that takes approximately 45 minutes. It is possible to walk with a guide who will tell you about the history of this place. The open-air museum is an exhibition devoted to the cultural heritage of the river. There we will see moving mills, a work barge, a foldable JANTAR kayak, the military “Lufcik” and souvenirs from Tsarist Spała.

The latest hit is blue-green water, shimmering with colors depending on the weather and light. You will see it in the Blue Springs reserve. These are actually the so-called karst peaks, one of the most interesting karst phenomena in Europe.

Tomaszowska Okrąglica is perfect for one day

You can easily spend the whole day in Tomaszowska Okrąglica and see the three most important points. If you start the trip early in the morning, you will arrive home in the evening without having to book accommodation. However, if you would prefer to stay in Tomaszów Mazowiecki for a longer time, you will easily find accommodation.

In this case, you can divide the visit to the attractions into two days or also see the city center and the surrounding area. A good idea for relaxation will be a visit to the Sulejowski Reservoir in Smardzewicefrom where you can reach the caves by car in just 6 minutes. There you will find, among others: sandy beach, you can have a picnic and go to the pier. Additionally, for castle fans, we recommend Inowłódz, where you will find the ruins of Casimir the Great’s castle and the Romanesque church of St. Giles on the hill.
